Creating A Little Extra Space for Growing Family

A side extension for a typical 4 bed detached property, located in a popular Oxfordshire market town.

This property benefits from a fantastic location, close to the centre of town.  The family, who were reluctant to move, felt that they didn’t quite have the space they needed with two boys approaching their teenage years.   They approached us to see how we could help.   The critical parts of their brief were to create a larger master bedroom suite and make the kitchen larger, without compromising the main garden space.

Our solution was to create a side extension, utilising the space to side of the property that was rarely used.   The existing kitchen and dining room were re-orientated and turned into a light and airy space, which is now truly the heart of the home.  The extension blends in seamlessly with the existing house which now benefits from  a new utility room.  To the second floor the master bedroom was enlarged, with an en-suite and dressing area.  The result is an attractive family home that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
