Single storey rear extension and extensive internal restoration & remodelling to a two-storey Grade II listed dwelling which falls within Chearsley Conservation Area.

The scheme successfully opens the existing dwelling up to the garden, which is orientated to address two different levels, a high level formal garden and a lower level courtyard area connected to the main house.

The existing garage and workshops are transformed to host the new kitchen and dining areas and it is connected to the new single storey extension, creating a large family room open to the courtyard/garden. The new contemporary single storey extension has a flat roof and it is connected to the existing building with a glass link to keep the continuation of the existing materials and avoid impacting the fabric of existing listed building as little as possible.

Externally the single storey extension is a combination of timber cladding and glazing that allows you to see through the new volume connecting the existing building to the plot.
